NFL Quarterbacks Have Changed

Video NFL August 30, 2026 1:11 DantesData
The NFL added another game and quarterbacks somehow started throwing for fewer yards. In 2016, 13 quarterbacks cleared 4,000 passing yards. In both 2024 and 2025, only six did it. And those quarterbacks had an extra game. Defenses changed the math. More zone coverage, fewer clean deep shots and more pressure on offenses to survive underneath. But every adjustment creates another weakness. Smaller coverage defenders can be attacked with heavier formations, deeper backfields and a more physical run game. That is why rushing volume, running back rotations and underneath target hogs are trends I am watching closely in 2026. I’ll be tracking all of it on DataStreak this season.
