Tickets % (Public) — The percentage of total bets placed on each side. This represents where the general public (casual bettors) is putting their money. High ticket % on one side usually means the public is piling on.
Money % — The percentage of total dollars wagered on each side. When money % diverges from tickets %, it signals that bigger bettors are on the opposite side of the public.
Sharp Action — Professional or syndicate bettors who wager large amounts based on models, data, and long-term edges. When a small % of tickets holds a large % of the money, that's sharp money. Sportsbooks respect sharp action and often move lines in response to it.
Key signal: When tickets are heavily on one side but money is on the other, sharps are likely fading the public. This "reverse line movement" is one of the most reliable indicators of professional betting activity.
