1. What We Collect
When you use DataStreak, we may collect the following information:
- Account information — email address, username, and display name you provide at registration.
- Payment information — processed securely by Stripe. We receive your billing name and the last four digits of your card. We never see or store your full card number.
- Usage data — pages visited, features used, search queries, and time spent. This helps us improve the product.
- Device information — browser type, operating system, IP address, and screen size. Collected automatically for security and analytics.
- Login history — for each authentication attempt (success or failure) we record the timestamp, IP address, browser/device user-agent, and login method. This is used solely for account-security purposes (detecting unauthorized access, fraud prevention, account-compromise alerts). Visible only to administrators; never shared with other users or third parties.
2. How We Use Your Data
- Account & service delivery — to create your account, manage your subscription, and provide access to tools.
- Product improvement — to understand which features are used most and where we can improve.
- Communication — to send account-related emails (billing receipts, password resets, service updates). We will never sell your email to third parties.
- Security — to detect fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access.
3. Third Parties
We share data only with trusted services necessary to operate DataStreak:
- Stripe — payment processing. Stripe's Privacy Policy
- Google Analytics (GA4) — anonymized usage analytics. Google may use this data per Google's Privacy Policy. You can opt out using Google's opt-out browser add-on or by declining analytics in our cookie banner.
- Email service provider — for transactional and marketing emails (receipts, resets, daily digest).
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to advertisers, data brokers, or any other third party.
4. Cookies & Local Storage
We use cookies and browser local storage to:
- Keep you logged in across sessions.
- Remember your preferences (selected sport, date, etc.).
- Track anonymous usage analytics.
You can clear cookies at any time through your browser settings, though this may require you to log in again.
5. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct — update inaccurate information in your account settings.
- Delete — request deletion of your account and associated data by emailing us.
- Unsubscribe — opt out of marketing emails at any time via the unsubscribe link in any email.
To exercise any of these rights, contact support@thedatastreak.com.
6. Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain certain records (e.g., billing history). Login history (IP, user-agent, timestamp) is retained for up to 12 months for security audit purposes, then deleted.
7. Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and access controls. No system is 100% secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notice. Continued use of DataStreak after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
9. Your California Privacy Rights (CCPA / CPRA)
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended by CPRA) grants you the following rights regarding your personal information:
- Right to know — request the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the sources we collected it from, the purposes for collecting it, and the categories of third parties we share it with.
- Right to delete — request that we delete personal information we have collected from you, subject to legal exceptions (e.g., billing records we are required to keep).
- Right to correct — request correction of inaccurate personal information.
- Right to opt out of sale or sharing — direct us not to "sell" or "share" your personal information. We do not sell personal information for monetary value. We may "share" certain device identifiers (cookie IDs, IP) with Google Analytics for usage measurement, which California law treats as "sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising." You can opt out via the link below.
- Right to limit use of sensitive personal information — we do not collect sensitive personal information beyond what is necessary to provide the service.
- Right to non-discrimination — we will not deny service, charge different prices, or provide a different level of quality because you exercised any of these rights.
To opt out of sharing for analytics: Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information, or email support@thedatastreak.com with the subject line "CCPA opt-out". Browser-based Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals are also honored.
To exercise any other right: email support@thedatastreak.com with the subject line "CCPA request" and we will respond within 45 days as required by law. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling the request. An authorized agent may submit requests on your behalf with written permission and proof of identity.
10. Cookie Categories
- Strictly necessary — session tokens, CSRF protection, fraud detection. Cannot be disabled.
- Functional — your sport/date/filter preferences. Disable in browser settings if you wish; the app still works but reverts to defaults each visit.
- Analytics — Google Analytics. Disable by declining in our cookie banner or via Google's opt-out tools linked above.
